About Me

Hello & welcome to my website! I am Sophie......... the Wild Mama!

10 facts about me! 

1. I had my first tattoo when I was 34 and now I can't stop! I have 8 so far!

2. When I was a single parent to my first child I trained for 2 years as a nurse but bailed in my third year! 

3. I spent 7 years as a Montessori Directress and Supervisor at a local nursery.

4. You never know what colour my hair will be each time you meet me! It's currently copper but its been turquoise, purple, lilac, pink, blonde, black, red, the list goes on! 

5. We are a home educating and neurodivergent family! Both my boys are Autistic and my daughter has ADHD.

6. My daughter is 20 years old which makes me feel older than old!

7. My love for essential oils and crystals is very very real! As well as an obsession for Harry Potter, Disney Greys Anatomy, Gilmore Girls and Crime programmes!

8. When I was 15 I met the Backstreet Boys - if ya know, ya know! It was a pivotal moment in my life!

9. We have 2 Pugs, Otis and Arlo and pug obsession is a real thing!

10. Coffee is  life.

Photography is my passion. It's an honour & a privilege each time I'm welcomed into a client's birth space, chosen to take a little one's first photo's, a first birthday, a family's group photos or a wedding. In a world where we are all so busy, professional photography can slip your mind,  but to me nothing will ever replace that 'third' person being able to capture those interactions & moments of time that so quickly evade us. 

 

I volunteer my photography services for a wonderful charity called Remember my Baby that offers the gift of Baby Remembrance photography - an essential service to sadly so many families. I am also Doula certified and am a member of the International Association of Birth Photographers .

I am based in Bournemouth on the South Coast but cover Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, West Sussex & beyond for Birth Photography!
